Arizona Green Tea may seem healthy due to its low calories. Its high carbohydrate and sugar content make it a questionable choice.

Arizona Green Tea Calories

Arizona’s classic green Tea with honey contains 70 calories and 18 grams of carbohydrates. (17%) It contains zero fat, zero cholesterol, and only 10 mg sodium. It also contains 25 percent of the recommended daily intake of vitamin C.

Remember that the 99 cent cans of green tea best-sellers are not 8 ounces. They are 23 ounces. You can choose from either 16 or 20 ounces if you buy a plastic container, also known as the Short Boy or Tall Boy by the brand.

It is important to note that Arizona is consumed in large quantities. This means that you will consume twice as many calories, carbohydrates, and sugar as what is on the label.

Arizona Green Tea Sugars

The 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines For Americans states that adults aged 19 and older should limit their intake to 130 grams of carbohydrates each day to maintain good health. Arizona Green Tea contains 54 grams of carbohydrates per 23-ounce cup. This is less than one-third of the daily recommended intake. This is for one drink, not a full meal.

You might also notice something odd if you look closely at the Arizona green tea nutrition label. The beverage, which claims to be 100 percent natural green, contains high fructose corn syrup.

The Mayo Clinic defines added sugars as sugars and syrups commonly used in food processing. High fructose corn syrup, for example, is one such sugar. According to the 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines, you should limit your intake of added sugars to 10 percent (or 50g for a standard diet of 2,000 calories).

The American Heart Association recommends that adults consume no more than 100 calories per day or 25 grams of sugar and that men eat no more than 150 calories (or 38 grams).

Additional Arizona Green Tea Options

Arizona Green Tea Zero is the best choice if you cannot imagine your life without it. Zero-calorie green Tea contains 0 calories and less than 1 gram of carbs per 8-ounce cup.

Although the beverage is low in calories and has significantly reduced carbs, it still contains sucralose, an added sugar. It’s a healthier option than traditional Arizona Green Tea, with less than one gram per cup and less than three per can.

There’s also the Arizona Green Tea Energy Shot. The 2-ounce shot has 5 calories, 1 gram of carbohydrates, and plenty of vitamins B12 and B6 and niacin, folic acid, and folic acid.

It also contains significant amounts of caffeine. This small bottle, which tastes exactly like honey green tea, contains 230 mg of green tea leaf extract caffeine. The nutrition label also lists sucralose in this beverage.
