Frogs are amphibians. This means that they can reside on land and in the water. They are awe-inspiring with their features, including protruding eyes, webbed feet, and soft and humid skin. The majority of them are found in water. However, certain species of frogs live in trees or burrow into the Earth.
Frogs have extremely sturdy back legs that are designed to aid them in leaping and swimming. The diet of frogs also differs according to the species it is. Certain species eat insects and worms, whereas others feast on other frogs, small reptiles, and rodents.
Frogs live a fascinating cycle. Female frogs fertilize eggs, and the eggs grow into Frogspawn. In between 6 to 21 days after, the Frogspawn transforms into Tadpoles. Tadpoles do not have legs. They have only tails to assist them in swimming. Tadpoles grow to full size between 6 and 9 weeks, but the time frame varies for different species. During this period, they can swim, eat and develop.
After about 12 weeks, the tadpole expands its arms and legs. The body lengthens, and its head becomes larger. It begins to be capable of breathing underwater as well. In this stage, the creature still has a tail.
Adult frogs shed their tails. It takes between 12-16 weeks for a frog to become an adult.
